How should I style my job listing?

Although all industries are different, there are certain basics that all job descriptions should contain. This is so that potential candidates at least have the needed information before applying for a job.
Note: If candidates don't see what they want to see, they may simply scroll further.
Here are suggestions to consider for a job listing description:
- Industry-specific job title for example: "Domestic Cleaner".
- Is the role for Dayshift or Nightshift?
- What are the shifts hours? Is it flexible? Are there opportunities for extra hours?
- The hourly rate is not compulsory however if not indicated, this will send a clear message that you pay minimum wages. Where possible, rather provide a bracket indication, for example "$23-$25/h depending on experience".
- Describe the job and expected work to be carried out on a daily basis.
- Are applicants expected to travel to multiple sites? With their own transport? Is there a travel allowance?
- Is experience required or will training be provided to the right candidate?
- Do you accept candidates that are in NZ on a Work Holiday Visa?
- If you are not an Accredited Employer (AEWV) ad to your listing "You must have the legal right to live and work in NZ at the time of your application. We are unable to offer work visa sponsorship or assistance".
With this information, potential candidates will not only be clear regarding to what is expected, but you will also not end up with the time consuming process of unwanted applications.
